Depression in kids is often linked with obesity. But it seems to be a case of chicken and egg. While the two often occur together, it is unclear which is cause and which effect. Obesity rates are soaring. One of the latest studies, published in Pediatrics, found that the longer a child is substantially overweight, the more they are at risk for depression and other mental health disorders.
